Introspection

This page reflects some of the self doubt that I feel at times. I think I’m seen very differently than the way I see myself. Doesn’t everyone feel that way sometimes?

The photo is a surprisingly good snapshot from a trip to the zoo. For once, I didn’t have my signature “goofy” look on my face.

The journaling is a segment of the lyrics to a Trisha Yearwood/Garth Brooks song., I used some random yellow tulle that I had lying around the studio (it came from a floral arrangement bow I think) behind the journal block to pop it up and give the page some depth.

Another Sketchy Thursday Entry

Sketchy Thursday also has a monthly guest design team challenge sketch. So I played along with the October challenge.

I love this photo, the blues are so intense. While I was doing some organizing, I found this patterned paper and cardstock that I had paper clipped together at some point in time. I still liked the combo today, and knew it would look great with my photo.

My original intent was to put eyelets in a nice line along the left side of the cardstock. Once I got the holes punched for the eyelets with my Cropadile though, I loved the look of the holes. So I grabbed the Big Bite and keep making holes. (It looks like I totally eyeballed the placement, but I actually used a ruler to try and line them up…as you can see, I had minimal success, but the overall look is pretty good). Its Art! Its Perfect Just the Way It Is! Right?

I really like these flowers. And guess what, they were a total steal! I got a 2 foot vine of these flowers, leaves, and some beads on the clearance rack at JoAnn’s a few weeks ago. The whole vine cost me 1.99 and I probably got 2 dozen flowers and a bunch of beads. ( Now, I need a craft idea for those little beauties). What a score!

Lovely Labor Day Weekend

I’ve had a fantastic weekend,with lots of craftiness involved. I shopped a little, organized a little more, and scrapped 3 of the 4 long weekend days. Awesome!

Here’s one of the pages from Friday.. I had a wonderful lunch with my babygirl that day and was feeling warm and fuzzy from out time together. So armed with a sketch from this week’s Sketchy Thursday I whipped up this page in less than 2 hours (which is a fast page for me, considering I was watching Criminal Minds at the same time).

I had a blast making the background. It was a happy accident. I was attempting to use Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on a Maya Road plastic lacy overlay sheet. I decided to use the heat gun to help the drying process along. It worked but don’t get too close, I made one corner melt a bit. But when I lifted the overlay I discovered I LOVED the masking effect it had left on the paper I had underneath it in my misting box. TA DA! So I took the blue Bazzill I wanted to use and redid the whole process and I ended up with this lovely shimmery background.

More overlay love, on the photo, this time a little one. I can’t recall the manufacturer, only that it was a RAK gift from one of my Columbus Scrapper girlies.

The patterned paper is from an older K&Co stack, that I distressed the heck out of with the awesome Zutter Distrezz It ALL that my BFF Karen gave me for my birthday.

The title, made from sparkly Thickers and my Signo White pen, says it all, since my girl is my heart.

Sympathy Moments

Not every card occasion is a happy one…but sending comfort to someone who is hurting somehow gives comfort back to you in a way that just doesn’t happen with those happy cards.

I think these turned out very elegantly and they were very easy to do with a Cricut cart ( need to run see which one I used, since I forgot!)

I fell in love with this patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Snorkel line (2009/10?) as soon as I saw it. Love the way this page ended up turning out too.

Had to add some dimension, so I popped up some of the adorable fishes

And pleating this sheer orange ribbon looks great, I think.

Baby Baby Baby

Funny story. I needed a baby card last week for a family member. I especially wanted a boy card. Well, I knew I had made a whole stack of them last winter….but can I find them? NO!!!

I searched the craft studio for an hour before giving up and making a new card. Man, was I annoyed! Then my BFF Karen comes in and I tell her about the missing cards and she says, “Oh, do you mean these?” as she walks to a shelf and pulls them out. Oh SNAP! LOL!

I have a LOT of ribbon, that is like shoestring material, I don’t know what its called…but I’ve no idea what to do with it. It might be good to glue tiny buttons or smallish beads to it. I may also try spritzing it with glimmer mist and see how that looks. Need more ideas…I have LOTS of it.

Saw an idea on Jenn Dove’s Blog for something to do with the Large buttons in my button jar. She glued a cute bow on top of them.

I just got back from a scrapping retreat with my best scrap pals, and guess what? I didn’t create a single scrap page! I worked on some projects ( that I have yet to photograph), just no pages.

I have made it into my scrap studio since I’ve been ( once I caught up on my retreat lock of sleep, which only took 4 days). I’ve actually taken photos of several recent ( and found photos of some not so recent projects). So let’s see if I can do some scrap blogging!

I was still reliving the weekend retreat memories when I pulled out these photos of my scrap space in our first camper. If you have supplies you can scrap anywhere! Love those white felt Thickers. Wish I had an unlimited supply!

This tag, though simple, is special for three reasons. One, the tag itself was a RAK from one of my Columbus Scrapper Friends. Two, because the butterflies are from a Fiskars punch that my AMAZING Retreat Secret Sister gave to me. Finally, because even though the tag was a sweet,bright, pastel yellow, my beloved Tim Holtz distress inks allowed me to mellow it out exactly how I needed it to be!

That reminds me, that all the flowers were also a RAK from a CS Scrapper as well. I am a lucky girl to be part of such a rocking group!

Becca, of Amazing Paper Grace is beyond talented. She makes the most beautiful cards I have ever seen. Here’s a note to self on the card she made today: She made this with Heart shapes. She used a new Spellbinders' die, but I think I could make this with my own heart shapes from the Cricut.

But it won’t be today, today I am off to the grocery to buy blueberries to satisfy my frozen blueberry craving, and dinner stuff to grill the fresh Lake Erie walleye given to us by friends we play cards with. YUM! Then, with a little luck, I can escape to the craft room and organize all the new goodies I bought yesterday! Have to wrap some of them up for my retreat secret sister! ( I love one for you and one for me shopping!

I should really take some photos and post some of the things I’ve been making, but I never find time for that! Gheesh!

Mo Jo Madness

Today, as I reading blogs, I am feeling especially inspired…so trying to document the ideas before they evaporate into thin air…

This photo made me want to grab chipboard, maybe paint/ink it, maybe not, and then stamp it with one of my background stamps and use it on a page.

This LO by Crafty Chick, is one I need to scraplift the subject matter. Me and myself, we have a lot of talking to do :)

This one, also by Craft Chick, ties into reminding me that I need to get settled on some goals and write them down…maybe I’ll scrap them instead. I’ll have to hunt through my digi pages, because I did a goal oriented resolutions page some years ago. Think the goals have changed?

I want to make some funny cards. Maybe a set with riddles? Or sassy comments.

OMG!! This card by Ann at Just For Fun is gorgeous! I love the acrylic and the background being inside.

That’s it for now. Wish I had thought to blog the first 10 ideas I had this morning. Doh!

7/2 Joined the embellished die cut swap. Theme is summer. Ideas: something from Cricut..or one of my many unused dies. Should fit nicely on a 12x12 or 8.5x11 page. How to embellish…make look like a gummy with diamond glaze stuff? Make it 3d?

7/2 Love the look of the Spellbinder Borderabilities. USE the 2 I have. And check out what borders can I make with my Cricut carts. Should create that spreadsheet of all carts and include what features each has.

7/2 Add texture to LETTERS or TITLES with the Cuttlebug. OMGosh, this looks great!

7/5 IDEA: Take the rugged inside of cardboard, and PAINT IT! White looks great, kind of a white washed look..so maybe paint then wipe it back off.

7/5 I’m really liking the trend I’m seeing of adding paint to busy patterned paper to tone it down somewhat for use as a background. For a great example see the second layout here

7/5 I also love how Kat (same link as above) uses mixed fonts for her titles. Need to study hers some more to try and figure out what makes hers really pop like they do.

7/5 I am also loving the use of alpha beads on cards and layouts. Very cute! Gotta get me some!

I can't even say it was any fun. Or that is is over. I've been consumed with work for months. It has really hurt my creative time in all ways. Not time to craft, to read about crafting, to blog, to cook, its been awful! It probably isn't over either, but it has slowed down a bit for the holiday season.

SO I'll try to get ahead a bit while I have the time...

I'll share a couple tidbits that I've stolen from Nancy, one of the SFTIO designer's blog...

Worst things that happened this weekend:

Not having ALL the kids here for Turkey Day.

Hardly any leftovers!

Neck and shoulders really aching.

Best things that happened this weekend:

Turkey Dinner was wonderful, if I do say so myself. I had a great time visiting with the family.

Got a scrapbook page done, only one though.

Got the new craft room cleaned out. Carpet cleaners come late this week and then it'll be ready to move into!

Had a very lazy Saturday! I don't do that often. I needed it.

4 days in a row without working...at all.! OH my!

Went to a Cincinnati Bearcat game with Steve, Cindi and Matt and FROZE my tushka OFF! But the game rocked! Our seats were GREAT!

Got my DROID phone! * happy dance* I feel like a cool kid now!

Watched Angels and Demons and Santa Buddies. First one was great, second one was cute. Vincent will love it when he comes home.

Found four boxes of pictures in the top of the garage.THE MISSING Pictures included. It was a hard weekend to look at the photos of Pat and I growing up with Mom and Dad...but oh so good to have found them. I truly thought they'd been gone forever.

The good outweighs the bad tremendously in my life. I am grateful.

I adore this little Edwin and chicken stamp.

I colored Edwin with colored pencils, then tricked him out with a background K&Co paper, a scrap of Basic Grey’s new Marrakech paper, and some cardstock that I ran through the cuttlebug with the distressed Stripes folder, and then sanded to give it an old barn door feel. I think the card turned out just adorable.

The Butterfly Catcher

I love these shirts! After you get the first one figured out ( which isn’t really hard, especially when you use the Scor-pal) you can whip these out faster than taking the real kind out of the dryer. A quick google on *Hawaiian Shirt Origami* will get you the directions.

The background PP is from a summery Colorbok pad, that I ran through the cuttlebug with the Distressed embossing folder. The shirts were made from a K&Co 4x6 mat pad. The sentiment is cut from the Caligraphy CRICUT cartridge.

Mother’s Day Tri Fold cards

This technique has been raging through the ScorPal Pals yahoo group the past couple weeks and I finally got to try my hand at it this weekend. I made one card for my MIL for Mother’s Day and one I’ll use for another occasion at some point.

The card design looks complicated, but is suprisingly easy. My Bazzil CS didn’t holdup well under the folds though. I suspect that was an error on my part. Probably need to scope with the grain or something. I’ll have to explore that.

The Basic Grey PP sure looked great though!

3 Wishes

3 Wishes--It is really hard to settle on only three! Sure, I have lots of *self* wishes....money, security, health, wishes for the kids, grandkids, parent's..lots of them.
But a friend and I were talking recent;y about how at the core of each person, there is a need to be understood and accepted. I think that sums up what everyone really is searching for in this life.

Oh my gosh, I had so much fun creating this page..about as much fun as I had creating the gifts at Christmas time that this page is all about!

I made the girls baking dishes onto which I had glass etched thier last names. They turned out so well and were so easy with some vinyl, and the cricut.

This page was fun for the same reasons. I used one of the calligraphy cart fonts, shadowed, and filled with gold glittery distressed stickles…so sweet!!!!!!!

A limited edition tag cut from graphically speaking, some primas and white paint atop a gorgeous piece of SEI Alpine Forest paper and…voila!

The photo was taken a few weeks ago atop Lovers Lane in southeastern Tennessee.

Fun page to create using papers from C’oredinations, and SEI’s new Mimosa line. Storybook and Calligraphy carts used for the title. Maya Road journal block and assorted lil embellies finish it off.

I used clear glitter glue around all the edges of the pale cream floral design I cut from one of the SEI papers to give it a little shimmer to match the shimmery butterflies.

Becoming a Zindorfian

IN September my bff and I drove to Dayton to attend a workshop by Michelle Zindorf who is absolutely amazing with a brayer and ink.

She made the process seem so very simple and I love the cards we made that day. Here is one that I've since given as a special Thank you to a good friend.

Cards for Children's Hospital Resource Center

I made the following cards for two different projects. One was a card kit swap for the Cricut Board, and the other was for card kits to donate to the Children's Hospital Resource Center, which is a community service project sponsored by the Columbus Scrapper's Board. The content for both is the same. Make up individual kits, that include all the supplies needed to create a card. For the hospital, parent's, visitors, or even the kids themselves, can take a few minutes, to relax, escape, and create a card, amidst the stress of their medical procedures.

This is a simple card, using generic CS and a strip pp from Paper Studio. I cut the circles using my nestibilities. The cupcake and sentiment are stamps from Hero Arts , stamped with Memories Black Ink and colored with colored pencils and OMS. The ribbon was a dollar bin find at M's.

For this card, I used generic CS, and ran the black piece through the CuttleBug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Sheer black ribbon atop black satin ribbon (from M's) wrap the card, with a Heart and sentiment cut from my Cricut Die Cut machine. I stamped the heart with a Fancy Pants flourish stamp and silver acrylic paint, then added dots with the paint and a stylus around the heart.

I made this card for a sweet young couple's wedding...

Pretty patterned paper from the DCWV wedding mat stack, atop shiny glittery DCWV glitter mat stack. Embossed stamped sentiment atop a scalloped square cut from my Cricut. Add some silvery stickles and tie a sheer silvery ribbon around the base and you have a very pretty card.

Then I needed a card for my In Laws, who were celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary.

More patterned paper from the wedding stack, along with a stamped sentiment and a chipboard flower and bit of bling and it was done!

Garden Bake

I love making recipe cards. Collecting recipes and cookbooks is another passion of mine. Being able to combine that passion with scrapbooking is serendipity to me! For this recipe swap, the recipe is on one side of a 4x6 card, and the other side is scrapped.

I found these darling stuffed tomato embellishments by Martha Stewart and knew they had to come home with me! The PP is from a paper slab, CS is from a mat pack, and the Title is stamped using SU! Old Olive ink and CTMH Clear alpha stamps.

Wedding Layouts

What can be sweeter than scrapping a beautiful bride? Not much. Wish I had been a better photographer on this day though. But I'll share my efforts none the less.

Fairy Tale

I love this photo of Cindi. It seems even sweeter that is was an *accidental* photo. Not a posed shot. She really was just picking something out of her bouquet. Obviously, I didn't take this photo, Steph Carson, her amazing photographer captured this beauty. Did you know that you can click any of the photos in this blog, to see a full sized version of the photo? My photo skills were terrible this day, I completely cut off the bottom two inches of the layout, which held a ribbon and Maya Road *Fire* Orange Velvet blossom. The ribbon and flower, came from the table centerpieces that were used at the reception.

The textured CS is from Paper Studio, I can't remember who makes the PP. Cindi and I bought it months before the wedding at Archivers, when we were making wedding invitation prototypes. The quote is from an Anna Griffith vellum quote pack.

Love is

Another beautiful photo on a very simple layout. Probably the easiest layout I've ever put together! Paper Studio Linen CS is covered with an acrylic overlay that I bought over a year ago at the Columbus Scrapper's Annual Yard Sale. I then added 3 of the Maya Road *Fire* Orange Velvet blossoms and voila! The page was complete. Again, I cut off the bottom of the page, losing the *Love Is* title. (wah!)

I love this PP from Paper Studio. It's sweet and shabby, which is my new favorite style. The page came together very quickly, just using premade Jolee and Dollar store stickers and elements.

Wedding Bling

This page features the diamond earring's that Matt gave Cindi for a wedding present. Oh yeah, that is the lil flower girl, who stuck to Cindi like glue. There is a TON of bling on this page too!

The title is made from a Dollar Store foam alpha (Miss Elizabeth's) that I painted with acrylic paint mixed with glitter. The foam took the paint beautifully!

The background

is a PP from an old K&Co Wedding stack. The scalloped CS is from Bazzill and I used a background stamp and choc chip ink to add the text. Then I used a Clearly Wordsworth stamp set to add the "I adore You" and "From this day forward" text over top the script stamping. The center of the scalloped CS was cut out so that the background paper and photo appear framed. The MR and Mrs chipboard embellishment came from the dollar store.

Finally, I added some brown satin ribbon and a buckle and brads from SU!'s 2007 Hodgepodge hardware set.

Yeah, I really love this page...or maybe it is just that I really love that young couple?

I'm very new to coloring with markers. I don't have copics, so I am scrambling along with my collection of either SU! water based, or my Sharpies, American Crafts and Zig markers. But I am getting by, and although I couldn't get a decent photo that showed the shading on my Happy Jack-o-lantern face, I think it looks pretty sweet ( albeit simple) in real life.

Generic CS was used, with the gold colored CS being run through the Distressed Stripes CuttleBug embossing folder and then inked with SU! Choclate Chip. I think the embossing gave the card the perfect touch along with some gold colored Dew Drops.

Flower Girl

This was a fun 2 page layout to put together. It's focus is Cindi and her 3 year old niece, who was the flower girl in the wedding. This is a really busy LO for me. I tend to scrap much simpler, but now and again...I go embellishment CRAZY!

Here's a quick page I put together. Cindi visiting with her grandparent's at her rehearsal dinner.

I really like the simplicity of this page, both in its compostion and the colors.

The CS is Bazzill. PP is from Paper Studio. The flowers and scroll embellishments are MM. The sentiment is a vellum quote from Anna Griffith.

Time for Thanksgiving and Christmas

I made these two cards a couple weeks ago, for a card kit swap on the Cricut MB. I {heart} that MB.

Two versions of this one. I couldn't decide whether I liked the big or small snowflakes better. The small ones were already glittered. The big ones I glitter by painting them (the snowflakes are foam shapes) with glitter paint.

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark, them embossed it in white. The white decorative border strip was done using a scrap of white GP CS and the MS border punch. The dark blue CS and snowflake DP are from HL. The other blue CS is from a MM pad and the white is GP. Don't ya love acronyms, makes us sound like scientists rather than crafters.

I fell in love with this DP at HL. I knew it would make a gorgeous Thanksgiving card. Scored it for 20cents a sheet too! I really love this card in RL, it looks so regal.

The cardstock is Bazzill. DP from HL. Satin Ribbon is from my stash and the white circle and orange scalloped circle are made from scraps. I got to use my Nestabilities for the first time ever on this card. Oh my! Do I ever {heart} them! The pumpkin image is from Impression Obsession and is colored with a combination of MM and Sharpie Markers.

I printed the sentiment from the computer onto a strip of the Bazzill CS, and cut it out with the Stampin UP! word window. That is one greatly versatile punch!

It has been too many days since my last post. Many things have kept me away, from being sick to being swamped, but I have managed to keep crafting throughout most of this time. I have lots of sharing to get caught up on, so I'll start with now and go from there....

Today, well yesterday really, since it is 2am Sunday now, I completed a set of tags for a Thanksgiving tag banner swap my Columbus Scrap group is doing. I am so excited about this swap and my tag turned out so cute. It did require much creative pondering to get it to a form that I was happy with though. Thursday night (when I actually created the initial tag design) I was wondering if it was ever going to feel *finished*, if ya know what I mean.

So for this swap, we're doing an idea that I think came from 2Peas originally. Each person participating takes one of the letters from the word THANKFUL and creates 10 tags using that letter. Once swapped, we'll each have the entire word in tags and can assemble a banner of the word for a holiday decoration. I think they will be so cute! I'll post a photo of the completed banner after the 18th, which is when we swap the tags. I had the letter "A", and my tag background was to be done in dark red. Here's my result...

Cute? I sure think so. Hope the recipients do too.

The DP came from the clearance rack at HL. SCORE @ 20cents a sheet! The border punch used is a MS that I found on clearance too. I used my Cricut, with the Keystone cartridge to cut the letter "A".

Oh..and as for scraps and stash elements...

The CS is so richly textured and is from a Art pad in the stash.The leaves I found in the bottom of drawer, the flowers, brads, and buttons are from my stash from forever ago...and the wheat-like stalks behind the leaves...that is a Starbucks Hand Protector that I cut into tiny strips!

Ribbons & Bows

I love how this page came together. Inspiration for the page came while leafing through Elsie Flannigan's "52 Scrapbook Challenges" Book. I saw a layout on page 71, done by Julia Scattaregia, entitled Ribbons and Bows. It made me think of Cindi's ribbon bouquet and the tradition of carrying a bouquet at the rehearsal that is made up of ribbons and bows from the bride's shower(s). Wonder where that tradition started?

I love these little metal letter embellies. They were a Xmas gift from my BFF.

The ribbons I used aren't from Cindi's bouquet, but I love how they brighten up the page.

I cut the title letters with my Cricut, and stamped them with a StudioG flourish stamp to dress them up a bit.

Ready for Dreams

It is rainy here today, and I am so sleepy because of it. Today, I have a couple sb pages to share.

This one is a photo of DD getting her hair done before the wedding. I used psp ( graphics program) to filter the photo with a green/grey cast which I thought was cool. While I was working on the page, I was thinking about dreams, both mind and DDs. That lead to the journaling about how I was blessed with watching her dreams come true, which in reality, is my dream coming true also.

This one was fun and whimsical. DD was SO ready for the wedding, she walked around beaming all weekend. This photo was from the beginning of the rhearsal on Friday night. Don't ya love her veil from the bachelorette party?

I made the flowers on the page using my Cricut with the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. The big one was cut with pp, then had the edges of the petals and the center inked, then stickled dots in the center too.

House Mouse and Happy Hoppers

Tonight's post is the remainder of the July card candy cards that I made last week. I love these house mouse and happy hopper images. Let's see what scraps I managed to add to them...

No scraps here. The bat and gloves are the candies I used along with some pp and a Hero Arts stamp.

No scraps here either. I just had to use this pp from the DCWV SUmmer stack with this cute lil seed spittin' bunny.

Gosh, no scraps here either. This candy set gave me everything but the base! Love it! I sent this card off to a dear lady who needed some cheering up today.

Another sweet lil hopper baseball player. Finally some scrap! This pp came from my scrap basket! Yeah!

And the seed spittin bunny again! And both pieces of pp came from the scrap basket!

Been feeling better for a couple days now, thankfully. Tried to post on Thursday night, but my post got eaten by the net gremlins, three times!!!

I was trying to share some of the cards that I made from the July set of summertime themed blog candy from my cc swap. I had such fun making these cards!!

One of the things I try to do when scrapping, is to use SCRAPS! I never throw bits away and feel such a sense of accomplishment when I can find a home on a project for some little bit of paper, or left over embellishment, or if I can use up all of some item. ON these cards, I did a bit of both. The dotted paper, from the DCWV Pet Stack, was new, but I used almost every bit of it on these cards. I also used up some lime green cardstock, as card backs for two of these. The red cs on the card above was a scrap too.

The blue cs and the green cs above are left over bits. There is some of the dotted pp too.

The light blue cs in the cards above are scraps. There is some more of the dotted pp too!

I started this card with the initial cut of pp. The rose cs and the light blue cs are both scraps.

Yukky Bugs

I've been down with a bug the last few days, which has been no fun at all. I felt well enough this afternoon to spend some time in the craft room finally. I worked on some cards and 2 scrap pages, but today I am going to catch up on sharing some things I made before the bug took a bite outta my hiney...

This is the second 2 page layout that I began at the crop a week ago. The subject is a comparison of Cindi and Matt with Cindi's grandparents, who are about to celebrate their 50th anniversary. It is called Time to Look Forward and Back...

Getting My Scrap On

With planning my daughter's wedding (it was August 9th), I realised that I'd only been doing wedding crafts and keeping up with my card and swap obligations, and had not put a scrap book page since March.

Now that the wedding is over, I have had time to catch up on stuffs, and get some photos printed off to begin scrapping. I went to a Columbus Scrapper's crop last Sunday (gosh , that was fun!) and managed to put the *bones* of 5 pages together, while chatting with some fun ladies.

This week, I've been working on finishing them up. Here is the first 2 page spread that I finished. It is a spread of Cindi and her Daddy, when she gave him his gift the night of the rehearsal dinner. He's a very emotional man, who loves his daughter immensely, and she feels equally as strongly about him. I struggled with finding the right title, for 2 days. I wanted it to reflect their feelings for each other. But it came together nicely in the end.

The large photos mask journal boxes underneath. The first one has the lyrics to the song * I loved her first* by Heartland, which was thier father/daughter dance song.

The second side holds the words to the poem that Cindi wrote for her Daddy. She framed it, with a photo of herself and her dad (seen in the small photo on this page), and that was the gift she gave to him. Yes, it made the big guy br4eak down. Bless his heart!

I'm really happy with how these pages turned out. It feels so good to be scrapping again too!

Bride To Be

The last wedding of the summer will soon be here for me. My friend's bridal shower is in 2 weeks, so I made her a pretty shower card with one of my favorite Stampin Up! stamps, the Bride To Be from the set. I colored the image with Stampin Up! Markers. The DP is from the DCVW wedding mat stack.

Recipe and a Wedding

This summer has been a parade of weddings, including my daughter's 2 weeks ago. I attended another today and made this card for the sweet couple.

Doesn't it amaze you that cards which appear quite simple, can take forever to come together, (example; the recipe card below) while others, that seem more complex go together in a short period of time ( like the wedding card above). I'm a slow crafter to begin with, but gosh, I can worry for hours over little details. I'm sure that says a lot about my personality, but then I've always said I was a complicatedly simple woman. LOL.

This next card is a recipe card, with a LO on one side and a recipe on the other. I made a whole set of these to swap with the girls on a weight watchers thread over on the Cricut Board.

Magnolia's

One of the stamp designs I have fallen in love with are known as Magnolia Stamps, with the lovely angel characters Tilda and Edwin. I hang out in a yahoo group dedicated to these darlings, called Magnolia-iscious. They've started issuing challenges, as well as providing the opportunity to share these images with others in the group. I found time this past week, to try my hand at some Magnolia themed cards, that I've shared with the ladies chosen for the August Raining Cards Swap and a challenge thrown down by a very talented group member named Claudia.

Take a peek, and you'll likely fall in love with them. Don't mind my coloring skills though, that is something I am very new to doing.

This is the very first Tilda that I've ever colored. I trust that I will get better with time. The card itself is based on a sketch by Claudia in the Magnolia-licious yahoo group.

I'm biting the proverbial bullet and jumping onto the blogging bandwagon. Just a little about me to start off.

I'm Kelly, known online for many years as chantryss. I live in Ohio, with my husband of many many years, and our chocolate labs and siamese kitty. I am lucky to have my grown children living near to me.

I have been a crafter, as far back as I can remember. I enjoy many artforms, but scrapping is by far my favorite. I have been digitally scrapping for several years, and started paper scrapping, stamping and card making a bit over 2 years ago, thanks to my daughter in law and best friend, Karen.

Now, I am a true addict, and find my life not feeling balanced if I haven't had a chance to be creative at least a few times a week. The same as most e4very other crafter I know!

So allow me to share with the cyber world some of my dabblings, and perhaps I'll make some new crafting friends along the way!
